Humanity

 Humanity

Dear humanity, dear solidarity, we’ve been looking for you
Your enemies: brutality and venality’ve turned all days blue

Many hearts are waiting for a new start to wipe out all fear
Only your brightness’s the power to dash every laid frontier

Fraternity is not defined by color, religion or political vision
All of us are sons of humanity not to be treated with derision

Dial peace, hugs, flowers, love, unity, respect, care, beers
And your call shall be received and welcomed with cheers

Charles Dickens' Biography

Charles Dickens' Biography

Charles Dickens is one of England's well-known novelists who have left their legacy in the world of literature. The great Dickens was born on February 7, 1812.
He faced a very difficult childhood as he was obliged to leave school after sending his family to prison for debt. However, all these difficulties didn't interrupt him from educating himself.

Despite having a modest start, he grew up to be the person who many in England put alongside Shakespeare and other icons in English literature. In 1844, Dickens' thought provoking writings about poverty and social injustice yielded fruit and enabled him to reach fame. Thanks to those challenging topics, Dickens was considered as a social reformer.

Charles Dickens passed away in 1870; he was dead but his messages live on.

William Shakespeare's biography

William Shakespeare, the Great Stratford Bard is the greatest dramatist and poet in the English language. He wrote comedies, tragedies and historical plays still played all over the world.

The English playwright was born in April 1564 at Stratford-Upon-Avon in the Middlands, England. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway who was older than him and with whom he had three children: Susannah and twins Hamnet and Judith.

Thanks to his great talent he had many occupations including dyer, player, butcher, printer, school master and soldier. These myriad activities inspired him in 1592 to start acting and writing plays. The year 1599 marked a transition in Shakespeare's life. In fact, he participated in constructing the "Globe Theatre," one of the pillars of drama, where most of Shakespeare's plays were performed.

Sadly he stopped writing at 1613 and went to live in Stratford-Upon-Avon, where he died in 1616. Despite his death Shakespeare remains the High Renaissance Genius and the icon of English literature.

THE AFTERMATH OF FREEDOM by Fathia Jellad
There was no sunlight before today
We saw only shadows kept at bay
It was stark; it was bleak in a way
That used to be Tunisia of yesterday
Freedom came with the sacrifices they made
Thanks to our martyrs fear will fade
Our heroes were gone out of shape,
But their names will remain on the tape
Tunisians revolted against those in power
Obliging them to run and leave their tower
By repeating slogans: Out! Game is over!
People woke up and finally became sober
Ministers stayed hours then left!
That was the quickest shift
Some took the revolution as a bull!
They were ready to ride to the full!
I warn off those having selfish demands!
My Tunisia is the most sacred of lands
Nationalism is not a kind of brand!
I will kneel and kiss her pure sand
As a citizen I will change my birth date
And each 14th of January I will celebrate
Let’s leave selfishness and greed
Love and Unity are all we need
Democracy cannot exist all of a sudden!
Let’s first work to get rid of that burden
Stop complaining about political rights
We need patience to carry on the fights
Let’s work! Let’s save our lands!
And fight for dignity, not personal demands!
Tunisia today is no longer the same
Her betterment should be our single aim
