After a long time of stress and work, we need a rest to get rid of all tiredness. The holiday is a time of peace and quiet. How to spend the holiday differs from one generation to another.
In the past, people used to spend their holidays with their families and relatives. Also, they would prefer staying at home all day to help their parents do the house chores and even work on the farm.
In contrast, nowadays, we spend our holidays traveling from one place to another or attending different concerts and museums in order to expand our knowledge and taste different food.
Besides, some people spend their holidays practising various activities such as water skiing, canoeing, and playing video games.
Finally, holidays these days are more enjoyable than those in the past since they provide relief from the monotony of daily routine.

There is no doubt that holidaying nowadays is different from what it used to be in the past. But, this does not deny the fact that this change didn't affect its core roles of fun and relaxation. So, we shall examine the differences between the oldest and the newest versions of holidaying.
In the past, people used to spend their vacations in their own towns. They didn't have the opportunity to visit other countries or even move from one area to another just for fun. Moreover, a lot of people in the past would stay at home due to financial problems.
However, nowadays the situation has changed. In fact, thanks to technological development people can enjoy their holidays since the internet, for example, enables them to book a room in a luxurious hotel or reserve a plane seat, etc.
In conclusion, we can say that holidaying is important for our mental and emotional well-being.
